Add a Google profile

Create an isolated Chrome profile and choose how it connects.

Before you start

  • Open the desktop app, not the website preview with sample data.
  • Know which Google account and network route this profile should use.

Steps

  1. Open the profile form

In Profiles, click Add profile to open the Add Google profile dialog. Pick one of eight avatars, enter a Name and optionally a Note. A profile name is a local label, not a Google email.

Names are normalized to NFC, repeated whitespace is collapsed, and uniqueness ignores case. Use at most 60 Unicode characters for the name and 200 for the note; remove control or invalid characters.

  2. Choose the network deliberately

Choose Use proxy and paste the proxy supplied to you, or explicitly choose No proxy. Leaving an empty proxy field in proxy mode is not the same as selecting no proxy.

Follow proxy setup to validate the address and check connectivity.

  3. Set Chrome time and language

Before opening Chrome, edit Time & language in Chrome in the form. Time zone can follow the proxy IP, use a fixed IANA zone such as America/New_York, or use the system. Website and Chrome menu language can follow the proxy IP, use a preset, or keep Chrome’s language. Without a proxy, IP-following uses system values; a preview is not proof that an already running browser changed.

  4. Save or open for sign-in

Choose Save only to create the profile without opening Chrome, or Create and open to sign in to create it and open Google sign-in.

Check the new card before creating another profile. If Chrome could not open after creation, the saved profile may already exist; do not create a duplicate to solve a browser error.

“Profile created, but Chrome couldn't open” means creation succeeded but launch failed. Find the existing card and fix Chrome or its proxy.

  5. Complete Google sign-in

Sign in in the newly opened Chrome window. If you saved only, use Open to sign in on the profile card. Follow Google sign-in and finish any verification before sending a job.

When it worked

A new profile card exists with the intended name and network choice.

If something goes wrong

Does creating a profile sign me in?

No. A profile creates a separate Chrome data folder. Sign in yourself in that profile’s Chrome window.

Why can I not save?

Read the field error. Check the name, explicitly choose a network mode, and correct any proxy or network preference validation error. Password proxies also require the Windows vault.

Why does validation reject the form?

Provide a name, keep it within 60 characters, remove invalid characters and avoid a duplicate. Keep the note within 200 characters and select an avatar; the form shows “Give the profile a name”, “Names can be at most 60 characters”, “The name has characters that aren't allowed”, “A profile with this name already exists”, “Notes can be at most 200 characters” or “Choose an avatar”.
