On this page · 4 steps
Compare preset voices or save a custom voice configuration for a character.
Before you start
- Open a new or existing character drawer.
- Use speakers or headphones to hear voice previews.
Steps
Open the voice controls
Scroll to Voice in the character drawer. Choose Let Flow choose, Preset or Custom under Voice type; these are alternative modes, not additive layers.

Use the voice search and gender filter to narrow the list. Select a voice and use its preview control; stop playback before comparing another voice. Preview audio is a sample, not a promise about every generated line.
Picking a preset voiceReal app screen · web sample data · private details blurred Configure a custom voice
In custom mode select a base voice, add optional Voice description (up to 200 characters) and required Sample line (up to 120). The base-voice preview plays the original sample, not a newly synthesized custom preview.
Save and update receiving profiles
Create the new character or save the existing one. Changing the voice makes existing profile copies need an update; sync them or let the next generation prepare them automatically.

When it worked
The character card shows the selected voice and its profile copies can be updated.
If something goes wrong
Why does custom mode fail validation?
Select a base voice and enter a sample line within 120 characters. Keep the optional description within 200 characters.
Why can’t I hear a preview?
Check system audio and the preview error, then try another sample. A preview failure is not a reason to create a paid video just to test playback.
Is this voice cloning?
The form uses a Flow base voice, description and sample text. It does not provide an audio-recording upload for cloning a person’s voice.
